Head Coach Andy Reid has inked a 3-year contract extension that will keep him in Philadelphia Green for the better part of thirteen years. Since signing with the Eagles in the early part of 1999, Reid has led the franchise to Super Bowl XXXIX, winning the 2004 NFC Championship. Now, the team has traded its starting QB Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins and will have QB Kevin Kolb leading the team in 2010. The Eagles will receive a 2nd round (37th overall pick) in the upcoming draft and will also get a third or fourth round pick in the 2011 draft. The Eagles have 11 picks in the 2010 draft and look to shore up needs at center, free safety and strong-side linebacker. The team has signed a few free agents in the offseason to include WR Hank Baskett, RB Mike Bell, LB Alex Hall, CB Marlin Jackson, RB Martell Mallett and DE Darryl Tapp. Ticket sales will be brisk for this season as the franchise has reloaded and is poised to strike the NFC again and possibly this time, make it back to the Super Bowl. |
